FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about using Fakepace. Can't find what you're looking for? Reach out via our contact page.
General
Fakepace makes it easy to generate Strava data. Simply draw your running route on our map, configure your target pace, and export a TCX file. You can then upload this file directly to Strava as a new activity.
No. Fakepace works entirely in your browser with no sign-up required. You can start building routes and exporting TCX files immediately.
Yes. Routes are snapped to real roads and paths using the Mapbox Directions API. Pace, elevation, and heart-rate data follow natural patterns with built-in variance, so the output closely mimics genuine GPS-recorded activities.
Account & Data
All route data stays in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share or export. You're in complete control of your data.
Currently, routes are stored in your browser's session. If you close the tab, the route is lost. We recommend downloading the TCX file before leaving. Persistent saved routes are on our roadmap.
Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you can clear it by clearing your browser's site data for fakepace.run. We don't store any personal data on our servers.
Billing & Pricing
Fakepace offers exports at Rp 5,000 (5K IDR) per file. You only pay when you export — there's no subscription required. Route building, map exploration, and data configuration are completely free.
We currently support major payment methods available in Indonesia including bank transfer and e-wallets. International payment options are coming soon.
Since TCX files are digital goods delivered instantly, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you encounter a technical issue with a generated file, please contact us and we'll make it right.
Support
Ensure you have a stable internet connection, as the map tiles load from Mapbox CDN. Try disabling browser extensions (especially ad-blockers) that might block map resources. If the problem persists, try a different browser or clear your cache.
Strava occasionally rejects files if the date/time overlaps with an existing activity. Try adjusting the activity date in Fakepace before re-exporting. Also ensure the file size is under Strava's 25MB upload limit.
