ROUTE BUILDER
Running route builder — free, snaps to real roads
Click the map and the route follows real roads and paths. Distance, elevation, and time update as you draw. Unlike a plain route planner, the result exports as a complete TCX activity file, not just a map.
What you get
Snap to roads
Mapbox routing pins every point to roads, pavements and park paths — no straight lines through buildings.
Distance & elevation
The distance counter runs live; elevation comes from terrain data along the route.
Location search
Type a place name and the map jumps there.
Strava preview
See the route, splits and pace chart the way Strava will show them before you export.
How to build a route
- Find your start with the search box, or pan the map.
- Click to drop points; auto-snap follows the roads. Undo if you miss.
- Check distance and elevation in the right panel; adjust until it fits.
- Set a target pace (and heart rate on Pro), then export the TCX for Strava or Garmin.

FAQ
- Is the route builder free?
- Drawing, distance, elevation and preview are free without an account. Only the TCX download is paid.
- Can I export GPX?
- Export is TCX, which Strava, Garmin Connect and others accept — and it carries more data than GPX.
- Does it work in any city?
- Yes. The map and routing are global; search a location and start clicking.
- How is this different from Strava Routes?
- Strava Routes produces a plan. Fakepace produces an activity file you can upload as a completed run.
