Fake Strava 5K run template
The most-searched distance for generated runs, and the easiest to keep believable. Pick a pace, draw about five kilometres, export.
Pick a pace for your 5K
Three realistic profiles. Each link opens the builder with the target pace preset — you only draw the route.
| Profile | Pace | Finish time | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 7:00 /km | 35:00 | Use this → |
| Moderate | 6:00 /km | 30:00 | Use this → |
| Fast | 5:00 /km | 25:00 | Use this → |
How the template works
- Choose a pace above. The builder opens with that target pace and a distance hint.
- Draw a route of roughly that distance; points snap to real roads and the distance counter updates live.
- Optionally add heart rate, cadence, and a watch profile (Pro).
- Download the TCX and upload it on strava.com via Upload activity.
Tips for a believable run
- Keep the pace inside the range your profile normally shows; a sudden 5:00/km on a profile of 7:00/km runs stands out.
- Draw the route where you actually run — a park loop, a riverside path, your neighbourhood.
- Add a small natural variation (Pro) so the splits are not identical.
- Upload at a plausible time of day, morning or evening.

FAQ
- How long does a 5K take at each pace?
- Easy 7:00/km is 35:00, moderate 6:00/km is 30:00, fast 5:00/km is 25:00. The builder shows the exact time for your drawn distance.
- Does the route have to be exactly 5.00 km?
- No. Real 5Ks land between 4.9 and 5.2 km. Draw roughly five kilometres and let the distance counter guide you.
- Can I add heart rate to the 5K?
- Yes, on Pro: heart rate and cadence streams plus a Garmin or COROS device profile are written into the TCX.
